The automatic car plate reader detects non autorized accesses in limited traffic zones and in public transport lanes. A centralized control unit monitors the traffic gateways.

Each gateway is composed of an ad-hoc acquisition system and a car plate detection and recognition software.

The centralized control software is able to manage up to 100 gateways and can be interfaced with external pre-existing DBMS. The configuration of each gateway is simple and intuitive: the graphical user interface makes it easy to insert and manage autorizations, to update information and to write queries to be used to extract information on unautorized access in a given time span.

The system is designed in order to interact with other heterogeneous access control sensors.
