VIT project (Vision for Innovative Transport) concerns the development of artificial vision technologies at the service of an innnovative system of containers intermodal transport. This system, called Metrocargo, is at the moment in the stage of prototypization.
Targets of the project:
- to automatically localize, with vision techniques, the corner blocks of a container and pins of the trucks where the charging device will be working;
- to ensure the safety of the operations in the terminal. Special attention is given to the security of the operators that will be working in dangerous environments when loading devices are active and moving.
Activities:
Imavis is in charge of the activity of the project related to the security of the operators. Moreover, it participates actively in project phases concerning the authomatic verification of the train composition.
